DeleteJohn Steinbeck is a great author, I'm glad you quoted him it was an excellent segue into the examples of everyday corruption that often goes unnoticed. You did well in making this topic known and explained it in a concise and clear manner. Steinbeck's words being used here was fitting because he does not shy away from discussing social issues, as he does in his short story "The Chrysanthemum" that talks of the problematic nature of a patriarchal system. The definitions went beyond the typical barriers of dictionary-housed definitions, in that it calls upon the knowledge of the economical state of geographical locations, such as Bangladesh and accept the presence of nefarious operations that might be less discrete there. The effects of which are reflected in the day-to-day lifestyles of civilians who bare witness to its aftermath. Seeing corruption being presented as a political matter was refreshing since it is often portrayed as a small sector ordeal that does not span beyond small spaces such as online or in-person black markets. When in actuality, it is present in multi-national governments. Various citizens have spoken out about the corruption they have witnessed, be it in the United States or Mexíco, it is almost omnipresent in that it can be found in any place where an elected group of humans rule over a populace. It is almost the inevitable consequence of assigning power.
